Londoners are turning to apps so they don't have to buy a car

London has never been a great place to own a car. Traffic jams are abundant, you have to pay every time you enter the congestion zone, and you're more likely to pick up a knock in the capital than you are in other UK cities.

Now a YouGov poll has found almost half of Londoners see apps like Uber and DriveNow as a viable alternative to owning a car.

The French president’s official photo features two smartphones

French President Emmanuel Macron today released his official photo, which features the newly-elected head of state standing in front of his desk. The photo is perfectly centered, with Macron framed by French and EU flags in front of an open window, but it’s the items on his desk that are most interesting: three books, a clock, and what appear to be two smartphones.
